About Me

Shantybellum: Natchez, Mississippi, United States; Shantybellum is a shanty shack in Natchez, MS with stories to tell, shared by Tommy Polk and Elodie Pritchartt. Tommy is an award-winning songwriter with songs by Crystal Gayle, Bobby Blue Bland, Diamond Rio, Irma Thomas, et al. Elodie is a freelance writer/editor/photographer. Her poetry has appeared on Web del Sol's IBPC website and Hiss Quarterly. She has written for Country Roads Magazine, Foghorn Magazine, Louisiana Road Trip Magazine various newspapers and magazines in CA and MS. We'll be talking about all the characters that make Natchez unique, both past and present. You'll learn about the town myths, legends and scandals. We'll tell you where the skeletons are hidden as well as the ghosts. We'll talk about anything we find interesting and think you'll find interesting, as well. We might even write a poem or two.
